What is BudgetCal?
BudgetCal is a calendar-first budgeting app. Instead of spreadsheets or lists, you see your income and expenses placed directly on a calendar so you can visualize your cash flow day by day.
Is my data safe and private?
Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and stored securely with row-level security — no other user can ever see your transactions. Staff access is limited to a restricted support view (your name, email, subscription status, and usage counts — never your balances or transactions) used only when you contact us for help — see Section 9 of our Privacy Policy. We never sell or share your information, and you can export or delete all your data anytime from your profile menu.
Is there a free trial?
BudgetCal offers a 30-day free trial, no credit card required. On day 31 you'll be prompted to subscribe to continue. Your data stays safe if you don't subscribe right away — it's preserved for at least 12 months, and we'd email you well before ever removing an inactive account.
What does it cost?
$9.99 USD/month. One plan, all features unlocked. No annual commitment required.
How do recurring transactions work?
Set a transaction once with a frequency (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly, and more) and BudgetCal projects it across your calendar automatically. You can mark individual occurrences as paid independently without affecting the rest of the series.
Can I track multiple accounts?
Yes — chequing, savings, credit cards, and cash accounts are all supported. Subscribers can add unlimited accounts.
How far into the future can I plan?
Subscribers can project up to 60 months (5 years) ahead. Free trial users can see up to 3 months.
Is there a discount available?
Yes — refer BudgetCal to friends or family, then email contact@budgetcal.app with your account email to claim $4.99/mo forever (the SHARE5OFF supporter rate). No app mechanic required — just send us an email.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from Settings at any time and you keep access until the end of your billing period. No cancellation fees.
What happens if I don't subscribe after the trial?
Your account is paused after day 31. Your data is fully preserved for at least 12 months — subscribe anytime to pick up exactly where you left off.
Can BudgetCal see my bank account?
No. BudgetCal does not connect to banks or financial institutions. You enter transactions manually, keeping you fully in control of what data enters the app.
